Giant magnetoconductivity in noncentrosymmetric superconductors

Abstract:
I will discuss linear ac conductivity of two-dimensional noncentrosymmetric superconductors. Due to inversion symmetry breaking the dependence of the conductivity on the in-plane magnetic field is dominated by inelastic scattering of quasiparticles. As a result, magnetoconductivity becomes proportional to the inelastic relaxation time. In contrast, in centrosymmetric superconductors the linear response conductivity is proportional to the elastic relaxation time. Since the inelastic relaxation time typically exceeds the elastic one by several orders of magnitude, magnetoconductivity of noncentrosymmetric materials is predicted to be much stronger.
