Theory of Iron Based Superconductors (IBSC)
Date/Time: 16:30 26-Aug-2021
Abstract:
IBSC surprised the physics community because of the unexpected superconducting state in iron based compounds. Even more suprising was their anomalous normal state properties, which took more than a decade to fully understand. We will argue that we can think of the IBSC as Hund metals, materials characterized by itinerant charge and orbital degrees of freedom and quasilocalized spin fluctuations. From this anomalous normal state, multiple ordered states can emerge, including superconductivity, and we will suggest a superconducting mechanism within Eliashberg theory which account from some universal aspects among different families of IBSC.
